Soo...it is being reported that Jada and Will are separating. My reaction was two fold: 1. I didn't believe it because The Smiths have yet to release a statement. I love me some them. Who wants to believe that their marriage is over. 2. I went to the twitters to see what everyone else was saying.
Some were sad about the news. But there were an overwhelming number of tweets that wanted to know why we care about the marriage of two people we don't personally know and who aren't cutting us a check. Wait: but don't most people have a favorite singer, sports player, directer, or rapper? Beyonce does not sign my check. But I love me some her anyway.
I don't expect everyone to care about the rich and famous.I get it.I understand that some people could care less about the goings on of celebrities. I am not one of those persons. I like to know who wore what, who is on the cover of such and such magazine, among other things. Basically, I like to Keep Up with the Kardashians.
Everything is not for everybody.
I do find it ironic that the same people who are questioning why I have a reaction to this Smith rumor, are the same ones that will weigh in on a celebrity's death. I could pose the same question: Why do you care that Ashford of Ashford&Simpson died?! You don't know him. He never wrote you a song. These are the same people that also weighed in on Maria's Shriver's separation from The Arnold. So it's okay to weigh in on Arnold and his love child but I can't be saddened about Will and Jada. Oh okay.
I wonder if this divorce rumor was about Barack and Michelle......errybody would have something to say. Why?! Not because he's El Presidente but because we believe that their marriage is solid hence my reaction to Will and Jada. I have not pinned my own personal marriage hopes onto the wings of the Smith Family.
Like really people?!! Let me be sad about the
Divorce whether its personal or celebrity is sad.

I don't know. It's almost as if they were saying my priorities aren't straight.
You can care or not care about celebrity gossip. Do you boo. But why do you care that I care?!
It seems a bit counterproductive to me.
